Photo of the Day: Asters

In response to the query in my last image, here's a better look at the flowers underneath the tulips…

On a really cool, but somewhat annoying note in my development as a photographer, I've learned two very important details regarding image size and colour profiles for digital images on the internet. Without getting into details, what it means is that my online images will look better, but I have twice the work if I want certain images in print. Oh well, it's worth it.

These are beautiful. So delicate. I think your photos are wonderful. I am a snap and clicker myself but always marvel at those who can create art with a camera.

I don't normally think of Asters as a spring flowers (aren't they the flower for September?)... but they are lovely. Sweet little buttons.

Yes, you're correct, asters are the flower for September. This particular variety is an English Daisy, which is also a member of the family Asteraceae. So while not the asters some think of, it's a very close cousin. Fact of the day care of Wikipedia. :P

Lovely pic.

We had asters in our garden once upon a time - cheerful, magenta buttons...(in the house I spent a part of my childhood in.)

Although I did not remember the month like Mrs. Gamgee, I do remember that they flowered just before the winter would strike....

lovely pic again!
