Innocent Dreams

Do you remember your dreams in the morning? Can you wake up and say, wow, that was a weird/lovely/scary dream?

I can't.

In fact, in my life I can only clearly remember 2 dreams. Yes, 2. I will on occasion remember a vague moment but it it always forgotten within about 3 or 4 minutes. I don't know why I can't remember my dreams. It's so very elusive. I know I dream (otherwise I wouldn't beable to mentally function) but I always wonder what I dream about. My husband on the other hand wakes up describing his dreams in vivid detail. And some are just bizarre.

On the rare occasions that I do remember, it's usually something big. Something to make me stop and go, huh, wow.

This morning I woke up out of a dream. The sweetest little dream. The kind where you want to go back to sleep and delve back into it and keep dreaming.

I woke up dreaming I was nursing. It was so real I could almost feel it. Even as I type there's this intense feeling coming over me. It's emotional and beautiful and peaceful all at the same time. The baby I couldn't really see well but the insane emotions I was feeling were overwhelming.

A dream I can't wait to turn to reality. Time to go back to sleep yet?

  1. Sigh. Overwhelming, indeed. Back when I was still ttc, I never dreamed of having children or of being pregnant or anything related. I think that if I would have had the dream that you had, it would have just about crushed me. I think it would have been a bit too much of the "so close and yet so far" concept.

That said, I do often remember some of my most vivid dreams. Once I finally did dream of something pregnancy/child related, I was in the 2ww and found out about three days later that I was, in fact, pregnant. I truly hope that this dream that you can remember is for you a harbinger of better things to come like my dream was for me.

Thank you for your sweet comment about my Creme post. :)

  2. Sometimes I can go long stretches of time without dreaming, then sometimes I will end up having vivid dreams night after night after night. I mean, so vivid I can feel everything.

    Usually nightmares.

I can't remember my dream last night. My husband had a vivid dream though, that we were adopting. Which is weird... because we're getting ready for injectables, not adoption.

Go back to your dream. I hope it comes true soon.

  3. I do remember dreams, not all of them, but I can wake up carrying the dream in to my waking state.

I also believe that dreams do show us what our deepest desires and insecurities are. I had a very vivid dream immediately after my ET. I believed there was a message for me which I could not decipher then. It did unravel, only that I am now so not wanting to dream if I ever go through IVF/ICSI again.

Believe in them and do not worry a lot about why you can't remember them. The ones which are meant to be remembered will make themselves available to you. Have a good sleep, that is more important.

WRT the comment you left on my Creme entry, I have been told that I face so many hardships because God wants me to be stronger. I wonder, why only me? Give me a break. Let me have something easily for one time easily. Why do I have sto struggle so much? I don't want to be anymore stronger.... :(

  4. I love those dreams...

I don't remember many of my dreams, but they must be mostly happy ones, because most days I can't wait to go to sleep and go back to wherever I go.

I hope this is the cycle for you. Your body might be telling you something!
