Lifestyle changes + Lyrica as needed + scheduled social interaction might be a good enough combination. But if that doesn't work, then you will know that you need more help. Good luck.areyoukiddingmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16107214079237461141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8473039.post-10692863198612472112009-12-14T19:24:56.070+00:002009-12-14T19:24:56.070+00:00I am glad you have your mother and another friend ...I am glad you have your mother and another friend to talk to about PPD. It may hurt to stir those feeling up, but keeping them inside will only be worse.

Having a newborn is isolating. I've told my husband more than once that I'm not sure who I am anymore. I'm not the old Jamie for sure. I guess it just takes time.

Don't be afraid to consider medication. My GP prescribed me L.exipro for depression once. I had a lot going on in my personal life and eventually got to the point I felt like I was drowning. This is how he explained depression to me: You have a checking account and a savings account of seratonin. When you are living in a time of high stress, you take from your checking account. When that is empty, you take from your savings account. When they are both empty is when you're in trouble. He prescribed L.exipro just long enough to refill my checking and savings accounts and I came out doing much better.Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11509124764568535676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8473039.post-65216352969625872952009-12-14T18:06:43.299+00:002009-12-14T18:06:43.299+00:00I think this part is key: "Perhaps that's...I think this part is key: "Perhaps that's the key. Just having people around. I'm such a social person that I have found parenting a newborn very isolating and lonely."

It is isolating and while company can't cure depression, it can certainly remove one burden on the load to know that you have friends/family around.Lollipop Goldsteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01020874415819057995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8473039.post-57319680319448739172009-12-14T14:28:38.132+00:002009-12-14T14:28:38.132+00:00I wish I could pop over and help. Glad you had a nice weekend.
P.S. You need a new GP! If only it were that easy.Clairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04485963928755441156noreply@blogger.com
